Syngenta and Genero Develops ‘Drone Assist’ Using Drupal
In a significant new development, adding a new feather to Drupal's cap, Syngenta and Genero have developed a web application to support the usage of agricultural drones.
The web application can calculate flight conditions quickly and set the values for spraying devices to support spraying operations at agricultural sites. According to the makers, Drupal's responsive design function allows it to operate naturally on devices with different screen sizes, such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
Drupal is an open-source content management system (CMS) with several uses. Used by a significant lot, from government websites to large enterprises, Drupal has a dedicated distribution named FarmOS for farm management and related agricultural services alone. However, the current development is not atop the famed FarmOS distribution but an independent platform Kamihaya.
The Kamihaya platform adopted as the development and operation environment for this project is based on Acquia Cloud, which provides Drupal as a PaaS (Platform as a Service). Click here to learn more details about the project.
