Zack Rosen Steps Down as Pantheon CEO After Over a Decade at the Helm

Zack Rosen, CEO and co-founder of Pantheon, has announced his decision to step down from his role after more than a decade at the helm. Zack, who has played a pivotal role in building and growing Pantheon, shared this news in a LinkedIn post, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the company. He reflected on the experience of working with a respected team, solving challenging problems, and earning the trust of over 10,000 customers. Zack emphasized the unique opportunity he had to align Pantheon’s stakeholders and execute a vision that aimed to transform the website technology industry.

Zack is not leaving Pantheon but will remain deeply involved with the company.

"I am not going anywhere. I am working with Pantheon’s board on a search for the company's next leader. We are going to find someone fantastic."

noted Zack Rosen.

He highlights that, despite the scale Pantheon has achieved, the potential for technological advancement in their industry remains vast. 

"My co-founders and I have nurtured a two-decade-long obsession with fundamentally solving our industry’s technology challenges. We remain deeply unsatisfied with where the technology is today vs. what is possible, and our obsession has only grown as the endgame for so many long-standing problems has recently become clear."

Bill Ingram, an independent board director at Pantheon for the past two years, will step in as the interim CEO. Bill brings significant leadership experience, having been a founder, CEO, and CFO of Avalara, a company that surpassed $1 billion in annual recurring revenue.

Zack expressed confidence in Bill’s leadership and the ongoing search for a permanent CEO. He also conveyed his excitement about collaborating with his co-founders, team members, customers, and partners to fully realize Pantheon’s vision for WebOps. This transition marks a new phase for Pantheon, as the company continues to strive towards addressing longstanding technological challenges in the web operations space.

What's next for Zack Rosen? He says, "Innovation!" He will work closely with Pantheon's teams on their customers and products.
