Accelerating Research Collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation: The I-GRASP Initiative
Collaboration is the cornerstone of scientific progress, and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) understands this well. In its pursuit of fostering stronger research partnerships, ISRO launched the I-GRASP (ISRO Grant-in-Aid for Space Research Programmes) initiative. However, the conventional paper-based proposal system proved to be cumbersome and inefficient.
To address these challenges, ISRO embarked on a mission to modernize its grant management process. Partnering with Quilltez, ISRO selected Drupal, a secure and user-friendly platform, to revamp its system. Leveraging Drupal's features, ISRO aimed to streamline the proposal submission and review process, making collaboration more accessible and efficient.

The transition to an online platform marked a significant milestone in ISRO's journey. With Drupal's versatility, researchers could now submit proposals electronically, eliminating paperwork and expediting the submission process. This shift not only enhanced efficiency but also improved transparency, allowing researchers to track proposal progress in real-time.
Moreover, Drupal's customizable workflows empowered ISRO to tailor the grant management process to its specific requirements. Automated workflows facilitated seamless coordination between researchers, reviewers, and administrators, ensuring smooth operations throughout the proposal lifecycle.

One of the most significant benefits of transitioning to an online system was reduced processing time. With proposals accessible at the click of a button, ISRO could expedite reviews and make timely funding decisions. This accelerated pace of operations benefited ISRO and instilled confidence among researchers.
ISRO's adoption of the ISRO-I-GRASP initiative, powered by Drupal and in collaboration with Quilltez, has revamped its grant management system. This modernization fosters enhanced research collaborations and fuels innovation in space exploration.
