DrupalCamp Asheville 2024 Commences Today!
Drupal enthusiasts are gearing up for the much-anticipated Drupal Camp Asheville 2024, which begins today, July 12, and runs through July 14. This three-day event promises a blend of learning, collaboration, and community engagement tailored for both novice and experienced Drupal developers.
The event kicks off today with a series of morning training sessions designed to enhance attendees' skills. Participants can choose from three training workshops: "Absolute Beginner's Guide to Drupal" by Rod Martin from OSTraining, "Professional Drupal Module Development Tools (Visual Studio Code + DDEV/Lando)" by Mike Anello of DrupalEasy, and "Learn Laravel: Intro for Drupal Developers" by Lee Walker of Code Journeyman.
Each workshop, included in the camp admission, is led by expert instructors, ensuring attendees receive top-notch guidance and practical knowledge. Registration on Friday begins at 8:30 am EDT, followed by the training sessions from 9 am to 12 pm EDT. The afternoon will feature an unconference from 1 pm to 4 pm EDT. The unconference format allows participants to pitch topics, vote on the most interesting ones, and engage in dynamic, informal discussions on various subjects, including accessibility, DevOps, and project management. The day will conclude with a prize raffle and closing remarks at 4:15 pm EDT.
Saturday's agenda is packed with a variety of sessions aimed at exploring different facets of Drupal development and related technologies. The day begins with registration and check-in at 9 am EDT, followed by a welcome and announcements. Attendees can then choose from a selection of talks and workshops, including "From Setback to Security: Navigating Data Loss in AWS" by Justin Keiser, "Balancing Act: Navigating Resourcing with Empathy and Efficiency" by Nina Ogor, and "Improving Page Builder UX with Layout Paragraphs and Single Directory Components" by Mark Colebank.
The camp photo at 11:45 am EDT and a lunch break at 12:30 pm EDT will offer networking and community-building opportunities. The afternoon sessions include "Beyond 99 Red Balloons: A Guide for Inclusive Images" by AmyJune Hineline and "Waiting for Starshot? Don't! Get Layout Builder Working Right Now" by Rod Martin.
