Lenny Moskalyk Releases Progress Report of Starshot Initiative for August 2024

The Drupal Starshot Initiative, which aims to shape the future of Drupal CMS, has made significant strides by the end of August 2024, according to an update released on Drupal.org by Lenny Moskalyk. The initiative, announced by Dries Buytaert, is advancing through various focused tracks, each dedicated to different components of the platform.

Among the key highlights, the Events Track has successfully migrated the Events recipe to Drupal CMS, laying the groundwork for a new event management system. Meanwhile, the Data Privacy / Compliance Track is preparing to launch an international survey, aiming to gather valuable insights to enhance data privacy features within the platform.

In collaboration with the Drupal Association, the Trial Experience Track has integrated the trial codebase into the primary repository using GitLab Pages, simplifying the user onboarding process. The Starshot Demo Design System initiative is also progressing well, with Drupal-branded components nearing completion and ready for testing ahead of the Experience Builder demo next month.

Additionally, the SEO Track has implemented a Basic SEO recipe within Drupal CMS, which sets the foundation for best practices in search engine optimization by default. The Advanced Search Track has drafted a proposal for different search approaches, with plans to gather community feedback in September. The Media Management Track is currently in the discovery phase, collecting input from the community to inform future media management features in Drupal CMS.
