Chicago Housing Authority Updates Website with Drupal 10
The Chicago Housing Authority partnered with Palantir.net to modernize its website using Drupal 10. The goal was to streamline the housing application process and improve access to services. Their previous Drupal 7 site suffered from content overload, inconsistent structures, and unclear navigation. Palantir addressed this through user interviews, top tasks analysis, and card sorting to guide design.
The rebuilt site reused 60 percent of existing content structures and introduced new property listing features. It now includes role-specific navigation, a simplified design system, and content written at a 4th-grade reading level. Backend improvements support CHA staff with clearer permissions and governance tools.
CHA chose Palantir’s Continuous Delivery Portfolio for ongoing maintenance and improvements. The project demonstrates a practical, research-based approach to public service design using Drupal. It prioritizes accessibility, user autonomy, and long-term sustainability.
