Free Drupal AI Webinar Series Launches in Partnership with European Commission
A free Drupal AI webinar series has been announced in a blog post by Matthew Saunders on Drupal.org. Created in collaboration with the European Commission, the series aims to prepare the global Drupal community for the platform’s shift toward becoming an AI-first content management system. It provides public, hands-on training in AI tools, responsible design, and real-world implementation.
The series began with a session on 10 June and continues with four more scheduled through October. Each event is free, recorded, and open to anyone in the Drupal ecosystem, including developers, site builders, content strategists, and agency teams.
Upcoming sessions:
1 July: Installing the AI Module & Basic Features
2 September: AI Search
23 September: AI Agents (No-Code Creation)
7 October: Advanced – Build AI Agents with Code
The webinars are led by contributors from the Drupal AI Strategic Initiative, maintainers of the AI module, and others involved in Drupal’s AI innovation efforts. The first session introduced the core architecture behind the Drupal AI module, showed how plugin-based support for different LLM providers works, and demonstrated AI-driven features like content automation, accessibility improvements, and semantic search.
Future sessions will build on this foundation, offering walkthroughs, technical demonstrations, and guidance on incorporating AI into Drupal projects while maintaining ethical standards and user control. The initiative also highlights how Drupal’s AI agents can be used to automate tasks with or without custom code.
Registration is open now for all upcoming sessions. The series is part of a broader effort to position Drupal as a leader in open source, ethical AI integration for digital experiences.
