Vipin Mittal, engineering manager at Acquia, has created a Gemini-powered AI assistant that analyses issue URLs and summarises the core problem, key decisions, current status, and potential contribution paths.

In a LinkedIn post, Mittal noted that long comment threads in the Drupal issue queue can make it difficult for contributors to quickly determine what has already been discussed or decided. Questions about the core issue, earlier decisions, and next steps often require significant time to interpret across multiple comments.

The assistant processes the discussion thread of a Drupal.org issue and produces a concise summary highlighting the core problem, important decisions, and potential ways developers can contribute. Mittal described the project as an early prototype and invited feedback from the Drupal community to help improve the tool.
