Linkit and Editor Advanced Link Extend Drupal Link Management Capabilities
Managing links at scale remains a persistent challenge for Drupal editors, particularly on content-heavy sites where accuracy, accessibility, and SEO must align.
A recent post by Nadiia Nykolaichuk on the ImageX blog examines how the Linkit module and Editor Advanced Link module extend Drupal’s core link management capabilities. The article highlights Linkit’s autocomplete-based linking, which connects content using entity references rather than raw URLs, helping prevent breakage when paths change. It also notes that newer Drupal core versions provide basic autocomplete features, while Linkit offers more configurable control over how suggestions are generated and displayed.
The Editor Advanced Link module expands the default link dialog by exposing additional HTML attributes for accessibility, SEO, and behaviour control. Editors can manage attributes such as aria-label, rel, and target without writing code, supporting more consistent and flexible link configuration across content. Together, the modules frame link management as a structured editorial practice, combining stable internal linking with attribute-level control to improve reliability and discoverability.
