Where Created Experiences Rule

The writing on my child's tee shirt reads: "Think like a Proton, Always Positive". I know; it is just a jingle and NOT scientifically accurate though approximately factual and mathematically true[1]. Sounds like Calculus? It does. So, for the time being, stand with the story. We need a lot of positivity and readiness to shred it to achieve balance.

We are now testing the limits of technology. We are in a calculus equation searching for the precise point at which we place the cap on infinity so that our approximation is almost accurate.

The changing times heavily depend on creating experiences. Rather than mere hedonistic pleasures, we now crave more sophisticated superhuman digital experiences. A world in which businesses fail only because of their reluctance to indulge in this newfound experience realm. We have heard about AI, ML, and NLP for ages. But it was only now that we experienced a paradigm shift like chatGPT. And we have started to find its flaws.

Drupal is a prominent Free and Open-Source CMS capable of providing a truly DX/CX. We are not a company or a consortium of companies but a strong community spanning businesses, universities and governments. Still, the companies see spending in contributions as an overhead. Individual contributors wonder how to move forward with core contributions while getting paid.

The point we are missing is a cross-business platform that could bring benefit to those companies who spend on upstream code. For that, the first step is to ensure the reverence not just in its glory but in money to reach these sources. How would that happen without the news being circulated, contribs being hailed, and companies being recognized?

The Drop Times is in pursuit of that. We plan to level the playing field by celebrating anything and everything in Drupal. We are here to fix the fundamental flaws in a FLOSS development model, be it the Cathedral or the Bazaar. The details will shortly be discussed in an upcoming Talking Drupal podcast with our founder Anoop John.

Meanwhile, we are creating our first newsletter. It will reach you every Monday with handpicked stories from the past week with an introductory note from the Editor. Here, this is the first in the series of many to come. Embrace us, dear Drupalists. We can nurture together.

For the stories this week, we are starting with Drupal's 22nd birthday. We circulated beautiful Infographics on social media commemorating this historical growth story on the occasion of the Drupal 2022 Recap. So had many others. We wish again, dear Drupal, a belated Happy Birthday. Let there be many to come.

The importance of having a Drupal.Org profile cannot be overstated. Drupal is a powerful CMS that focuses on digital experiences. One of the top manufacturers in the CMS sector, Drupal global contribution week is commencing soon. There is also a warm-up tour for DrupalCon Lille. Know how to benefit from DrupalCon Pittsburgh or submit sessions for its Birds of the same feather. Checkout the sessions for DrupalCamp Florida and the events, DrupalCamp NJ and MIDCampDrupalCamp DEN happened in Iwakuni, Japan. The prime news last week in Drupalverse was about CI&T acquiring Somo. See the latest in Acquia engage awards. Also, DrupalEasy Podcasts are back. This may not be all the news. But this hopes to be a fitting set.

Stay tuned for the subsequent updates. Thank you,

Yours sincerely,

[1] Protons are composed of two up quarks of charge +⅔e and one down quark of charge −⅓e where 'e' stands for an elementary charge, a fundamental physical constant. Neutrons are the exact opposite. Fundamentally, protons are positive. But do they have a negative charge as well? Hell yes!
