Drupal Association Appoints Tiffany Farriss as Interim CEO
Board members at the Drupal Association have appointed Tiffany Farriss as interim CEO after Tim Doyle stepped down. The Association announced the leadership change on 15 July 2026.
Farriss is expected to serve for six to 12 months, with responsibility for strengthening the Association’s financial and operational foundation and preparing it for long-term leadership. In its announcement, the Association said its board had worked with the senior team to maintain continuity during the transition. A separate post by Drupal founder Dries Buytaert said the board plans to launch a permanent CEO search later in Farriss’s interim term. Neither announcement gave a reason for Doyle’s departure.
Buytaert’s post estimated that Drupal’s shared infrastructure costs roughly $3 million each year and said the current funding model is not durable enough for the work ahead. The Association said Farriss brings more than a decade of board experience, including service on its Finance Committee, along with DrupalCon organising and agency leadership experience. The announcements did not specify when the permanent CEO search will begin or what funding changes may be considered.
