Drupal Coding Standards Committee Updates
The Coding Standards Committee has welcomed new members to its ranks, strengthening the collaborative efforts in maintaining and enhancing Drupal's coding standards. The latest additions to the committee, including Aaron McHale, Björn Brala, Derek Wright, and Urvashi Vora, bring a fresh perspective and diverse expertise to the table. The committee places great value on the power of diversity and collaboration, anticipating their contributions will significantly enrich the ongoing efforts to maintain coding standards.
One noteworthy change enacted by the newly fortified committee is a revision to 'The Process for Changing Coding Standards.' The pivotal adjustment is the decision to keep coding standards issues within the Coding Standards project, eliminating the back-and-forth migration between the Coding Standards project queue and the Drupal core queue. Instead, issues that impact Drupal Core will be addressed in a more streamlined manner—a committee member will ensure these concerns are brought to the attention of the following Core Committer's meeting. This change aims to enhance efficiency and clarity in managing coding standards issues, ensuring a more seamless process for the Drupal community. For a detailed read, visit drupal.org.
