Drupal, AI, and Web Development Training Offered at MidCamp 2025

MidCamp 2025 is set to take place May 20–22 at DePaul University’s Lincoln Park Student Center in Chicago. In addition to its full program of talks and activities, this year’s event features a range of hands-on training sessions designed to deepen attendees' skills across Drupal, AI, Agile workflows, and modern frontend development. Training add-ons start at just $10 and are open to all registered participants.

All sessions will run on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 2–5 p.m.CDT, with two continuing into May 21st.

Highlights include “Using the Drupal AI Module,” led by Chris Weber and Justin Keiser (Academy of Model Aeronautics), offering a practical walkthrough of AI tools for Drupal 11 and Drupal CMS. Participants will get a hands-on introduction to AI integration no prior experience required, though a paid OpenAI or API account is necessary.

Introduction to Agile and Git Workflows for Web Developers,” led by April Sides (Red Hat), spans two sessions and focuses on Agile principles and Gitflow best practices for team-based web development.

Michael Anello of DrupalEasy will lead “Drupal CMS Preview,” a two-part training designed to introduce the upcoming Drupal CMS platform, emphasizing its user-friendly features and potential to reshape Drupal's broader perception.

Front-end developers can dive into “Franken Theme – Reverse Engineering Contributed Themes,” with Bernardo Martinez, a session exploring reusable components and techniques pulled from Drupal’s theme ecosystem.

Finally, “Drupal Decoupled,” led by Brian Perry and Simon Morvan, will guide attendees through the fundamentals of decoupled architecture using Drupal as a headless CMS with modern frontend tools and GraphQL APIs.

MidCamp continues to offer space for learning, community building, and cutting-edge innovation in the Drupal ecosystem. For full details and to reserve training spots, visit: https://www.midcamp.org/
