Montréal Drupal Meetup to Feature AI Governance and Drupal 11 Integration Demo
AI governance workflows and Drupal 11 integrations will be among the featured topics at the Montréal Drupal Meetup scheduled for 28 May from 18:00 to 21:00 EDT. The event will take place at Montreal CoWork and is hosted by the Evolving Web team as part of the city’s recurring Drupal meetup series.
Organisers describe the meetup as a space for Drupal professionals and community members to exchange ideas, attend technical presentations and discuss ongoing developments across the Drupal ecosystem.
The featured session, presented by Jérôme Tchania, will focus on governance and operational management challenges connected to AI adoption inside content management systems.
Titled “AI Governance in Drupal: Quotas, Ollama Fallback, and Cost Control in Practice”, the presentation will demonstrate a Drupal 11 implementation built using the drupal/ai module.
The session will examine how organisations can manage AI usage through per-user quotas, monitor operational costs and maintain service continuity when cloud-based AI limits are reached. According to the event description, the demonstration includes automatic fallback to locally hosted AI models using Ollama when external AI credit quotas are exhausted.
Additional topics expected during the demonstration include cost-metering dashboards, AI usage visibility, and governance controls intended to support operational oversight in production Drupal environments. The session will also include slides and a live DDEV-based demonstration using Anthropic API requests.
The meetup reflects broader discussions across the Drupal ecosystem on AI governance, infrastructure costs, operational control, and the responsible deployment of AI-assisted workflows within Drupal projects.
