Drupal CMS Announces Leadership Changes in Marketing, UX, and Development
Dries Buytaert has announced leadership updates aimed at enhancing Drupal CMS’s marketing, user experience, and technical development. Nick Koger has been appointed as the new Marketing Lead, replacing Suzanne Dergacheva. Since joining the Drupal Association seven months ago as a Product Marketer, Nick has contributed to launching Drupal CMS through content creation, social media engagement, and a global event marketing strategy. Suzanne, along with her team at Evolving Web, played a key role in establishing Drupal CMS’s brand and initial marketing efforts. While stepping back from daily involvement, she will remain active in the Marketing Committee, and Evolving Web will continue contributing to design and content strategy for Drupal.org.
A new UX Research Lead position has been created to strengthen Drupal CMS’s focus on user experience, with Emma Horrell stepping into the role. Emma, supported by the University of Edinburgh, has researched target audiences, helping define user needs and optimize features for marketers. She will work alongside Cristina Chumillas, who continues as Product Design Lead with support from Lullabot. On the technical side, Adam Globus-Hoenich has been formally named Drupal CMS Lead Architect. A key figure in Drupal CMS’s development, he created its original prototype at DrupalCon Portland and has been the main committer since. He will continue working closely with Technical Lead Tim Plunkett, with both receiving support from Acquia to advance Drupal CMS’s architecture.
These leadership changes are now in effect, reinforcing Drupal CMS’s commitment to product growth and innovation. The new leadership team will be present at DrupalCon Atlanta 2025, where attendees can discuss Drupal CMS’s future direction and upcoming initiatives. This update builds on prior leadership announcements, ensuring continuity while bringing in new expertise. Read the full post here.
