Meet the Keynote Speakers of DrupalCamp Berlin 2024

DrupalCamp Berlin returns on November 8-9, 2024, reuniting the Drupal community in the heart of Berlin for the first time in a decade. As part of Drupal Week Berlin, this event will dive into essential topics shaping Drupal’s future, from advancements in CMS design to best practices in security. Featuring a lineup of keynote speakers who will address critical developments in Drupal, attendees can look forward to sessions that provide valuable insights into the platform’s direction and evolution.

The first keynote of the event, “Shaping the Web—Drupal's Success and the Future with Drupal CMS,” is led by Baddy Sonja Breidert, and will explore Drupal’s journey to becoming a premier CMS and digital experience platform. With insights from Dries Buytaert, Drupal’s Founder, and a message from Tim Doyle, CEO of the Drupal Association, the talk will cover new advancements like the “Recipes” approach, part of the recently rebranded “Drupal CMS.” Attendees will get an in-depth look at Drupal’s ongoing role in enterprise solutions and its user-centered future.

In “The Future of Gin,” Sascha Eggenberger will cover updates on Drupal’s Admin UI, focusing on the development of the Gin Admin theme. Security is at the forefront in “Composer Best Practices & Supply Chain Security,” led by Nils Adermann, creator of PHP’s Composer. Nils will discuss practical strategies for managing PHP dependencies securely and explain the role of Composer, packagist.org, and Private Packagist in the PHP supply chain. This talk is tailored to developers seeking robust practices to safeguard their applications.

Another key session, “Did You Know Drupal Runs on PHP?” by Stefan Priebsch, CEO of The PHP Consulting Company, will emphasize PHP’s integral role within Drupal. Stefan will walk attendees through PHP’s evolution within Drupal’s ecosystem, touching on its influence over the years and potential future directions.
