All Drupal eyes around the world are now trained towards the east. Yes, DrupalCon Singapore 2024 is what we are talking about. The next star-studded Drupal event is set to take place in Singapore from December 9 to 11.
DrupalCons are well known to host a galaxy of speakers who present deep and knowledge-filled sessions. DrupalCon sessions help attendees freshen up their knowledge in the most relevant areas of interest and lay the foundation for future projects in Drupal. DrupalCon Singapore 2024 presents a variety of sessions in many important tracks. The speakers are renowned figures in the Drupal world who will take you deep into the world of knowledge. Let’s have a closer look at some of the speakers during the three-day event.
Jess (xjm)
Jess is a Drupal developer with over 18 years of experience with over 1000 documentation. She has been a Drupal core release manager since 2015. She is an expert in web development, tech support, research and restoration ecology. Jess has been a Drupal core committer, security team member, Drupal core initiative coordinator, mentoring coordinator, Drupal core sub-system maintainer, project contributor and Documentation editor. Her session. 'A Drupal core maintainer shares peer code review best practices' helps improve your teams' peer code review process, code maintainability, and Drupal contributions.
Yas Naoi
Yas Naoi has been a Drupal developer for more than 19 years and has more than 100 edits to his credit. He is now the Chief Architect, Cloud, at DOCOMO Innovations Inc. Yas’ specialities include Cloud Computing, Drupal, Systems Architecture Design, and Agile Software Development, among others. He will lead the session titled 'Automating Behavior-Driven Development: Boosting Productivity with Template-Driven Test Experience'.
Gábor Hojtsy
Gábor Hojtsy is a long-time Drupal contributor from Hungary with over 21 years of experience. He has held many contributor roles, including Drupal core committer, Drupal core initiative coordinator, and project contributor, and has spoken at various DrupalCons and DrupalCamps. He is a Full Stack Community Organiser at Acquia and also the Drupal Starshot Contribution Coordinator. His session will deal with the futuristic Drupal projects, namely Drupal 11, 12, and the Starshot Initiative.
Tim Plunkett
Tim has more than 16 years of active involvement in Drupal. He had excelled as a Drupal core subsystem maintainer, leading key areas like Ajax, Form API, and more. He also coordinated game-changing initiatives like Layout and Views integration. He is now working as the Manager, Engineering of Acquia’s Drupal Acceleration Team. He is also the Technical Lead of the Drupar Starshot Initiative. Tim will be sharing the stage with Gábor Hojtsy.
Muhammad Tanweer
Muhammad Tanweer is an entrepreneur and Drupal Evangelist. He is the Founder & CEO of App Desk Inc., and a Board Member of Accountability Lab, Pakistan. He will talk about his experience in the 'Implementation of automation systems in Balochistan's Public Accounts Committee,' where they helped move a laborious manual process into an efficient automated one.
John Doyle
John Doyle, President and Founder of Digital Polygon has been with Drupal for over 12 years. Passionate about open-source technologies, he has contributed to Drupal patches and modules. He is a familiar face at Drupal events, both as a speaker and an organiser. John will discuss the 'future of websites in the era of AI'.
Gaurav Goyal
Gaurav is a Technical Architect with over a decade of experience leading technical projects and designing scalable and high-performing architectures. He now works as the Chief Technology Officer at Digital Polygon. Before moving to Digital Polygon, Gaurav worked at Acquia for five years and left the company as a Senior Technical Architect. Gaurav Goyal will co-mentor the session with John Doyle.
Lauri Timmanee
Lauri Timmanee is the Principal Software Engineer of the Drupal Acceleration Team at Acquia and the Product Lead for Drupal’s Experience Builder initiative. He will share the most recent updates and news about the Experience Builder Initiative.
Alejandro Mareno López
Alejandro Moreno Lopez is a Director-at-Large of the Drupal Association. He has more than 17 years of experience with Drupal. He has many Drupal contributions to his name and plays an important role in organising Drupal events. His professional experience includes roles as Technical Architect, Software Engineer and Technical Solutions Manager. He has also worked as a developer in the past. These days, he works as Partner Manager and Developer Relations at Pantheon Platform. He will lead the session, 'Innovation and the Future of Drupal'. Alejandro aims to spark a thoughtful conversation about Drupal's path forward.
