DrupalSouth Announces New Leadership Committee

DrupalSouth has officially announced its committee for 2024, bringing together a group of dedicated professionals to lead the organization’s activities and initiatives. The newly appointed committee includes individuals with diverse experience, ready to advance the Drupal community in the region.

The 2024 committee members are:

• Chair: Julia Topliss
• Secretary: Margery Tongway
• Treasurer: Dallas Ramsden
• Committee Member: Chris Burgess
• Committee Member: Vladimir Roudakov

Vladimir Roudakov, who was elected to the committee, brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience to his role. His recent interview with The DropTimes highlighted his aspirations and deep commitment to enhancing collaboration and innovation within the Drupal ecosystem. His election underscores the confidence the community places in his vision and leadership capabilities.

Vladimir has shared strong interest in strengthening Drupal's stand in academia.

"Drupal requires a lot more love in the documentation department for successful adoption in the future, especially by small businesses and academia. "

He also shared that,

"As far as I can remember, the DrupalSouth Committee was originally created to support the community rather than taking on an organizational role for the conference. I envision the committee change that can bring affordable camps back by working with local educational institutions and organizations."

DrupalSouth has also expressed gratitude to outgoing committee members Dave Sparks and Michael Richardson for their significant contributions over the past two years. Their tenure included key milestones such as the successful organization of DrupalSouth Wellington 2023, the introduction and management of the Splash Awards in 2023 and 2024, the Canberra Community Day in 2023 and 2024, and the planning of DrupalSouth Sydney 2024. Their leadership has left an enduring legacy and laid a strong foundation for the incoming committee.
