AI Tools Ship With Drupal CMS 2.0 Distribution
Drupal CMS 2.0 introduces integrated AI capabilities as part of its distribution release, embedding provider support and workflow tools directly into the CMS.
The release supports AI providers including amazee.ai, OpenAI, and Anthropic through curated recipes. amazee.io offers limited free tokens for evaluation, while OpenAI and Anthropic require user accounts.
An administrative chatbot assists with common site-building tasks such as creating content types, defining taxonomy terms, and adding entity fields. The feature is designed to operate within standard Drupal workflows.
Drupal CMS 2.0 also includes AI-assisted image alt-text generation to support accessibility, along with media library enhancements that help categorise and surface assets during content creation.
An AI Dashboard provides visibility into configured providers, installed recipes, and available AI extensions within the CMS.
Contributing organisations listed in the announcement include Technocrat, FreelyGive, QED42, Acquia, 1xINTERNET, Itty Bitty Byte, Salsa Digital, Kanopi Studios, amazee.io, Pronovix, and LakeDrops.
