LocalGov Drupal Offers Ten Sponsored Places for Government Summit at DrupalCon Europe
Council digital teams can apply for one of ten sponsored places at the inaugural Government Summit during DrupalCon Europe in Rotterdam. LocalGov Drupal announced the offer in a website post, with Big Blue Door funding the places. Applications close on 21 August 2026, and the summit will take place on 28 September 2026 at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre WTC Rotterdam.
The summit is intended to connect people working across local, national, and European government organisations around shared public-sector digital challenges. Morning panels and short presentations will be followed by afternoon lightning talks and facilitated workshops on possible collaboration around new and existing projects. Registration opens at 08:00 CEST, and the programme runs from 09:00 to 18:00 CEST.
LocalGov Drupal’s announcement names Sachiko Muto, chair of OpenForum Europe; Teun van der Vorm, general director of DICTU; Esmeralda Tijhoff, product owner at DICTU; Gina Plat of the Open Source Program Office at BZK; and Mike Gifford of CivicActions. It also lists Will Callaghan of LocalGov Drupal and Justine Pocock, co-founder of Chicken. The current DrupalCon schedule displays Plat, Gifford, Tijhoff, Muto, and van der Vorm as speakers and notes that the programme remains subject to change.
The sponsored places are intended for council digital teams that would otherwise be unable to fund attendance. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, with priority given to people working directly in the public sector. Each place covers the Government Summit only; standard access costs €180 as a DrupalCon add-on, while LocalGov Drupal lists a €250 stand-alone option. The organiser is also accepting session proposals but has not published a specific submission deadline on its Government Summit page.
