Distributions are dead, long live distributions: a Drupal CMS story

Drupal CMS is one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken by the Drupal community. It tries to solve some of the same problems long faced by distributions…but it’s not a distribution. It’s built entirely on Drupal’s game-changing new recipe system.

This session will look at how Drupal CMS compares to a traditional distribution, and share techniques you can use to build your own starter kits. We’ll cover:

- Drupal CMS’s install profile — why it’s there, what it does, and whether you need one.- How to manage configuration in a site built with recipes.- Designing recipes that are shareable building blocks.- Making it easy to add new features.
